'Gateway'
University of Victoria Visual Arts Building
Pop Up Exhibition in Room A111
Sept 2-10th 2025

Selected works exhibited at the Lake Country Art Gallery in the group exhibition Come Around Lately Oct 4-Nov 28 2025

The work in Gateway can be seen as a distillation of my experience living amongst the buildup of colonial Victorian architecture & ideals, elaborate gardens, Mid Century Builder houses, free piles, dog parks, and farmlands-turned-suburbs that exists on the unceded territories of the Lekwungen (Songhees and Esquimalt) and WSANEC Peoples, with their cotton candy sunsets, ocean mirages, ebbing shorelines, windy rock outcroppings, Garry Oak meadows, and Arbutus Tree groves.

For these works I developed a unique process involving concrete (and impressions made by plants & vaseline), image transfers, and chalk pastels.

The following exhibition companion may be seen as an alternative to an artist statement. It seeks to digest the interrelationships, histories, and critical capacities of the images, films, materials, writings, architecture, cultural phenomenon, and objects that have influenced this body of work.
